What we did, from the work order
Called out to quote replacing the waste and overflow on unit #55. Because the unit is on the first floor, the tub and shower had to come out to reach it. Cut out the old tub, shower and surround, replaced the waste and overflow, and installed a new tub and surround with a new p-trap assembly. Replaced the old shower valve with a new one while the surround was open.
On a ground-floor unit there is no access from below, so the only route to the waste and overflow is through the tub. Saying that at the estimate is the difference between an approved job and an argument halfway through it.
