Water Main Repair in Oceanside
A blown 2 inch PVC 90 and a failed regulator. Both were replaced before the water went back on.
Water Main Repair in Oceanside
What we did, from the work order
Called out for a broken main water line. Quoted on site, the property manager approved the work, and the technician returned the following morning to excavate. Found that the 2 inch PVC 90 had blown out and the 2 inch regulator had failed. Replaced the section with 2 inch copper pipe, 2 inch fittings and a 2 inch schedule 80 MIP fitting. Backfilled and compacted sand around the new meter boxes the city provided, turned the water on, bled the air out at the hose bib and cleaned up the work area.
Replacing the broken fitting and leaving a failing regulator upstream puts the next break on a clock. Both were changed in the same excavation, which is the only time it is cheap to do.
